M.I.R. Ltd commenced operations in St. John's,
Newfoundland in 1983 and was incorporated in 1985. Since our
inception, we have been providing services to the marine and
industrial sectors, for local and international clients. The
company has grown to become a financially secure full service
marine and industrial fabricating/repair organization. M.I.R.
Ltd. provides services in the installation, repair, and preventative
maintenance of all mechanical, electrical and piping systems.
The company offers metal fabrication on smaller components and
ship building capabilities in aluminum construction.
M.I.R. Ltd. employ experienced journeyman millwrights,
engine fitters, welders and electricians who are well versed
in all disciplines to work as a team. M.I.R. personnel have
a wide knowledge of marine hull, machinery and electrical systems.
The company has experience with marine regulations, classification
societies, ship safety and underwriters.
M.I.R. Ltd. has experience in and provides condition
inspections, and technical representation to ship owners in
shipyards and other repair facilities.
M.I.R. Ltd provides prompt service and quality
work throughout Eastern Canada.
Key Personnel
James
Walsh - President
Over forty years experience in installation, trouble
shooting, maintenance and repair to all ship board mechanical
and industrial mechanical systems and machinery. Extensive experience
in diesel engines, generators, pumps, gas turbines, steam turbines,
transmissions, fans, and air compressors. Knowledge in the operation,
trouble shooting and repair to most fluid pumping systems. Able
to organize, supervise, plan, and execute projects.
Jeffrey Walsh
- General Manager
Graduated from the Collage of Fisheries in Marine
Systems Design Technology. Over sixteen years experience in
design, project management, consultant and hands on work to
the marine industry. Knowledge on design and repair to all ship
board operations, equipment and steel and aluminum repairs.
Worked in shipyards, engineering offices, and the offshore until
1991 and returned to St. John's to help operate M.I.R. Ltd.
as manager and hands on supervisor.
Pauline Walsh
- Office Manager
Pauline has been the Office Manager since the
company commenced operations in 1983. Please contact Pauline
for information concerning administration and accounts payable.
Gerard Walsh
- Shop Manager
Gerard graduated from his Electronics Technician
course at Dery(Toronto) in 1981. He has 18 years experience
as an electronics repairman. In 1998 he has joined the family
business. Gerard has a diversified background which includes,
Business Administration and Heavy Equipment Operator.
Marlene Smith
- Accounting
Marlene has been with the company since 1983 and
is responsible for accounts receivable and the day to day accounting.
